Training for engine room personnel

Marine training:At the Norwegian Training Centre in Manila, the Philippines, we offer hands-on and theoretical training on Alfa Laval engine room equipment and systems.

The training is tailored to meet the needs of all engine room personnel and more than 500 people attend each year. In addition to standard courses, customized training is provided on request.

 

Standard courses

There are two standard courses, Auxiliary Machinery Systems, Modules 1 and 2, lasting 4 and 5 days, respectively. The courses are designed to deliver up-to-date, realistic training that gives the participant the knowledge and confidence to ensure safe, cost-effective operation of auxiliary engine room systems.

Teaching methods

There is sharp focus on practical hands-on training, interwoven with the use of training videos, lectures and discussions.

Responsible trainer

Rick Hartley is the responsible person for our Alfa Laval courses in Manila. He is a former Alfa Laval employee, a Graduate Marine Service Engineer and is highly experienced in the marine and diesel industry and our equipment. Rick Hartley now works as a consultant and runs the Alfa Laval trainings in Manila.
